I'm hoping that this blog will help me keep in touch with friends and family across the Atlantic, as well as a few who are a bit farther-flung. I'll be returning to the US in mid-January; until then, I'll be parlez-ing le français and blogging away.

One week left.
Next Saturday, my two improbably heavy suitcases and I will take off for Charles de Gaulle airport. That's when my semester will begin, as I arrive in Paris, meet my host family, and start the last (fingers crossed, anyway) bureaucratic procedures required for my stay. This semester I'll be taking a full slate of college level courses in the French Université de Paris system, exploring France and maybe a few other bits of Europe, and doing some research for next year's Senior Project at Bard. Oh, and eating croissants. Lots of croissants.
